Why people love music? I've been listening to music since I was in my mother's womb, but I didn't like it. Today, I would like to talk about "musical honey" that I think of. According to the study of bird songs, only birds and humans sing "musical songs" other than messages. It seems that birds are the only creatures that can distinguish the difference in pitch of about 1% (semitone) required for harmony beauty, not dogs and cats. A crow with better manner than humans. Aug. 27 was the 12th anniversary since my dog passed away. So I performed and shot this tune which I wrote on his 6th anniversary. This dog loved my piano and he gave me all the inspirations and courage to pursue music. He passed away the right next day of my concert in Tokyo. Everyone said "Oh, it's because your concert was over". Please meet him on the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUPjmiOWZjE This tune is included in my first album "Elegy In Violet" coming out on September 20th. But...

I went to Moomin Valley Park in Saitama Japan. I was so excited with meeting real Moomin and Snufkin. Moomin was rushing to me to pick me up for the photo session (above), because he knew l had been waiting for my turn for a while. That surprised even the Park staff, as well as myself. I am sure this will be one of my most precious memories in Japan. I was a big fan of Moomin anime as a child. The fantastic atmosphere which is dreamy, contemplating yet full of positive challenges attracted me...

I am reading a book written by a great mathematician Kiyoshi Oka(1901-1978), who represents Japan. Yet, it's an ordinary essay, not about mathematics. There I found an academic episode spoken with his friend during he was studying in France. According to "Basho Zakki Note" written by Basho Matsuo(1644-1694), a famous historical haiku (short poetry) master, even accomplished haiku writers have only ten excellent pieces at most in their lives, better if he/she has a couple. (Basho's own words)

My coming album's cover photo is going to be a pop one. It is to be released from a classical label though.. 今度リリースされるCDのジャケット、ポップな感じになる予定です。一応クラシックのレーベルからのCDなんですけどね。 Of course, it's not this photo above. The cover photo will be a one taken in the same studio on the same day. But without a bear....
