After building her career as a keyboardist/pianist in Japan, Mikiko's 1st piano album in the U.S. "Elegy In Violet" was released from a classical label Centaur Records in 2019.  

Some tunes from this album were featured on popular playlists such as Apple Music editorial “Piano Chill”, UnClassified(Naxos) “Brain Fuel” and YourClassical(APM) “Peaceful Piano”.

Her second album in the U.S. is coming in autumn 2021.

Mikiko is a regular member of The Japan Federation of Composers Inc., an associate member of ISCM.

In Japan, Mikiko recorded a new wave album "Gang Busters"(S-Ken) for King Records as a keyboardist. This label is known for its star artists such as Chiemi Eri, Kiyotaka SugiyamaAKB48 and music for Play Station, Game Boy etc.


The producer of this album Haruomi Hosono is a member of Yellow Magic Orchestra, whose members include Ryuichi Sakamoto.

Mikiko's album credits (as her maiden name Mikiko Kodama) with well-known artists including  Haruomi Hosono, Mute Beat(Hiroaki Hoshi & Kazufumi Kodama),  and Kazutoki Umezu .


Mikiko mentions her musical influences as Soft Cell, Lyle MaysRadio head and Hatsune Miku.

Her favorite classical composers are J.S. Bach, Ligeti, and Ibert.

In addition, Mikiko was a concert producer to artists visiting Japan from the U.S., such as Rita CoolidgeThe Lettermen and The Mamas & Papas , as well as to Japanese top artists including Eiko Shuri.

Mikiko occasionally performs piano at prestigious venues such as Suntory Hall and Tokyo Opera City Recital Hall in Tokyo.

Mikiko is also an author and novelist
Mikiko is the winner of a literary contest The Asylum 2016.  Her fantasy short stories were featured on literary websites and blogs such as Rebelle Society, with 250.000 followers.
